George Mason University and adjacent Robinson High School feature multiple basketball/volleyball courts, track & field venues, and tennis courts as well as stadiums and an arena to host opening and closing ceremonies. Large indoor facilities include Dulles Expo Center, The Fieldhouse, and our megasportsplex – The St. James – which boasts an Olympic pool, two NHL ice sheets, four NBA courts, and a FIFA turf field that can be covered with modular flooring to accommodate multiple sports events and activities. Virginian and WAGS Soccer Tournaments – Two of the largest soccer tournaments in the U.S., hosting hundreds of teams annually (Facilities: rectangular turf fields throughout Fairfax County).

Loudoun County
What are two of the most difficult obstacles to overcome when planning a sports tournament? Facilities and location. Oftentimes, the cities with proper facilities are the most difficult to get to, and when you finally find a place that has everything your tournament needs, it’s in the middle of nowhere! Well, we wouldn’t highlight this problem if we didn’t have a solution for you. If you’re planning a sports tournament, then you can bank on Loudoun County having the facilities you need in a location that is convenient for all, as well as having an overflow of entertainment and activity options for the whole family.
Located less than an hour from Washington, D.C., Loudoun is the third-largest county in the Commonwealth and home to Dulles International Airport. Great sports facilities are located throughout the county including Ion International Training Center, featuring two NHL ice sheets with a 3,500-seat arena. Segra Field is a 5,000-seat stadium with artificial turf and is home to three professional teams – Loudoun United FC soccer, Old Glory DC rugby, and the Washington Spirit women’s soccer team. Annually, Loudoun hosts several fastpitch softball tournaments at five championship-quality facilities totaling 26 fields. VA Revolution Sportsplex is a premier facility with four FIFA-certified turf fields and a 1,500-seat stadium. Other outstanding facilities include the Virginia Volleyball Center (six courts, plus a sand court), Northern Virginia Badminton Club (nine courts), and Smash Table Tennis (11 XIOM tables).

Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park
The 405-acre regional park features baseball, softball, football, lacrosse, and soccer complexes. The facility offers nine diamonds and eight large rectangles with an additional two turf fields to be added by 2022. Bolen is host to several large tournaments on an annual basis including the USSSA “C” National Championships, PONY Nationals, USA Softball Eastern Championship, Senior Softball Eastern Nationals, and many other regional events.

Ion International Training Center
The 90,000-square-foot facility features two NHL ice sheets, including a 3,500-seat arena in addition to a full-service gym, café, pro shop, medical room and hockey training room, among other amenities. Ion annually hosts several MYHockey Tournaments as well as US Figure Skating events. The center, with nearly 1,000 parking spaces, has room to expand to four ice sheets on the 16.5-acre site.

Virginia Revolution Sportsplex
The nearly 44-acre facility features four fully lit, over-sized FIFA certified, bio-turf fields capable for the use of a variety of sports. The stadium features bleachers and can seat approximately 1,500 people with additional seating in CroppMetcalfe Park and auxiliary seating, which can be brought in if needed. CroppMetcalfe Park & Adventure Course complement the fields with more destination features including a zip-line.

Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park
A 257-acre regional park featuring 11 multi-purpose fields including two turf championship fields with stadium seating and press boxes, four baseball/softball fields, batting cages, a cricket pitch, four pickleball/tennis courts, disc golf course and a skate plaza. Additional amenities include picnic pavilions, two dog parks, splash pad, playground with rubberized surface, and the Lodge with meeting space.

Potomack Lakes Sportsplex
The 47-acre athletic complex has won numerous national awards including the 2019 Senior Softball USA Softball Complex of the Year Award. The Sportsplex includes four lighted softball fields with 300-foot permanent fences and 200-foot temporary fences as well as six large, irrigated, adjacent soccer fields.

Brambleton Sportsplex
The Brambleton Sportsplex completed renovations in 2016, with upgrades to both the fields and parking on property. The facility now includes four 400’ fields and two 200’ fields with a completely resurfaced parking area. Brambleton Sportsplex has been the host for several tournaments including the PONY Nationals, USSSA “C” National Championships, USA Softball Eastern Nationals, and Senior Softball-USA Eastern Nationals.

2017 Senior PGA Championship – The 2017 Senior PGA Championship took place Memorial Day weekend at Trump National Golf Club. Bernhard Langer completed the Senior Grand Slam, winning his first Senior PGA Championship finishing at -18 to defeat Vijay Singh by one shot.
USA Softball Eastern Nationals – The Eastern Nationals have been in Loudoun County since 2009 and highlight a different age group annually, featuring girls fastpitch teams from throughout the Atlantic Region. The tournament has been a five-time recipient of the USA Softball James Farrell Award of Excellence for conducting the highest rated USA Softball National event (Facilities: Potomack Lakes Sportsplex, Claude Moore Park, Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park, Brambleton Sportsplex, Edgar Tillett Memorial Park).
MYHockey Tournaments – Regional hockey tournaments attracting teams along the East Coast and Canada (Facilities: Ion International Training Center, Ashburn Ice House).
PONY Nationals – Featuring five age divisions competing over two weeks, the PONY Nationals attract teams from across the U.S. and abroad to compete in girls fastpitch softball (Facilities: Potomack Lakes Sportsplex, Claude Moore Park, Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park, Brambleton Sportsplex, Edgar Tillett Memorial Park).
USSSA Eastern “C” National Championship – The USSSA Eastern “C” National Championship has taken place annually since 2016 and includes teams throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. The girls fastpitch tournament features players ages 10-18 participating in five age group categories (Facilities: Potomack Lakes Sportsplex, Claude Moore Park, Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park, Brambleton Sportsplex, Edgar Tillett Memorial Park).
Prince William County

Prince William Stadium Complex
Prince William Stadium Complex is home to a 400 ft. Baseball Stadium with 4,000 seating capacity, three 300 ft. softball diamonds all lighted with dugouts and bleachers, and an eight-lane USA BMX-certified BMX Track with spectator bleachers, lighting, paved turns, and a professional drop gate. The complex has permanent concession stands and indoor restrooms. The complex has RV parking available with ample parking surrounding the complex. It has quick access to I-95 making it a great site for any tournament.

Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center (Indoor Recreation Center)
The Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center boasts a 50 meter ten-lane Olympic-Size indoor pool with 300 seating capacity, digital timing and results board, movable bulkhead, locker rooms with showers, meeting rooms, an indoor High School-size basketball court with walking/viewing track 40 ft. above, and three racquetball courts. The Freedom Center has quick access to I-66, an abundant amount of parking, Wi-Fi available, and is just a couple minutes away from multiple attractions in the county.

Prince William Ice Center
Prince William Ice Center features an Olympic-Size ice rink with 300 seating capacity, an NHL-size ice rink with 300 seating capacity, on-site restaurant and bar, three meeting rooms, an A/V control room, locker rooms with showers, and a retail center. The Prince William Ice Center has quick access to I-95, hundreds of hotel rooms, and is minutes from the Potomac Mills Mall area and other attractions. George Hellwig Park (Fields)
George Hellwig Park is home to three full-size artificial turf soccer fields with lighting, spectator and team seating, on-site concession stands, indoor restrooms, and a check-in building. It also features three full-size grass soccer fields with portable restrooms on-site, a 325 ft. baseball field and two 225 ft. softball fields, all lighted with dugouts and electronic scoreboards, and one 115 ft. rubber surface miracle field. Located minutes away from either I-66 or I-95, multiple attractions, and other sports facilities, this site is tournament ready.

Robert Trent Jones Golf Course
Robert Trent Jones (RTJ) Golf Club is a private club located in Gainesville, Virginia. Opened for play in 1991, the par-72 course plays between 5,570 and 7,425 yards. RTJ was founded and designed by the legendary golf course designer Robert Trent Jones while conducting an aerial site survey for another project. Located about 30 miles from downtown Washington D.C., the course is on Lake Manassas, an 850-acre reservoir. The course held the inaugural Presidents Cup in 1994, and again in 1996, 2000, and 2005 as well as the 2021 AJGA Rolex Girls Championship. RTJ is set to host the prestigious LPGA Solheim Cup in 2024.

Forest Greens Golf Club (Golf Course)
Forest Green is set in the rolling terrain of the Piedmont in Triangle, VA not far from Quantico Marine Base. This is a course that offers challenge, magnificent vistas, natural settings, and golf as it was envisioned with pine tree-lined fairways, and well-protected greens. Eighteen holes, par 72 on 6,831 yards, Bermuda grass, and five sets of tees at each hole make up this course designed by Clyde B. Johnson. The club also features a driving range, putting green, and a clubhouse with a full-service restaurant. This club is also home to a newly added 18-hole Championship Tournament Disc Golf course.

Jeff Rouse Swim and Sports Center
Swimming, diving, water polo, other water sports can all be found in this 76,000-square-foot, world-class Olympic-sized sports complex. This facility is equipped with a 50-meter by 25-yard competition pool with seating for more than 800 spectators and movable bulkhead, an additional 25-yard recreation pool, and a warm-water wellness pool.

Potomac River Fishing
The water is open for any sports adventure. With creeks and tidal tributaries of the Potomac River, many sports have caught wave to our hidden gems. Kayak fishing, specifically for bass, have put Stafford on the map as a hidden “fish town” and it has become the epicenter for snakehead fishing on the East Coast.

Stafford boasts two challenging disc golf courses at Curtis Park and John Lee Pratt Park that wind through woods within the parks and feature 18-holes at each, offering year-round recreation and tournament play. Virginia Special Olympics Basketball Championships – This is an annual Virginia Basketball Championship held in Stafford, VA and hosts approximately 1,100 visitors each year. Athletes compete at various basketball courts across the county (Facilities: high school basketball courts throughout Stafford County).
VHSL 5A and 6A State Swimming and Diving Championship – Multi-day high school state championship meet, accommodating 600+ athletes and 1,000 spectators (Facility: Jeff Rouse Swim and Sports Center).
Kayak Bass Fishing Tournament – Multi-day kayak bass angler fishing tournament hosted across various accessways on the Potomac River in Stafford, VA (Facilities: various access points to the Potomac River in Stafford County).
USYS Region 1 Soccer Championship – A five-day soccer championship tournament which attracts hundreds of State Champion youth teams and thousands of visitors from the 15 states that make up Region 1 of USYSA (Facilities: Embrey Mill Park and various rectangular fields across the Stafford region).
April Fools Fest Ultimate Frisbee Tournament – One of the largest ultimate frisbee tournaments hosted on the East Coast, bringing athletes to Stafford, VA for a three-day tournament (Facility: John Lee Pratt Park).
